Workers' Compensation

Workers’ compensation laws were promulgated to protect and provide certain medical and financial benefits to employees who were injured in the course of their employment.

In the instance of a fatal injury while on the job, these laws also ensure that the decedent’s dependents are provided with the appropriate benefits. The laws also benefit employers by limiting the amount an injured employee can recover from employers.

Areas of Service

Our workers’ compensation professionals have tried and argued cases at the trial and appellate levels in the state and federal courts of both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. They have also presented seminars and educated insurance companies on numerous topics, such as the interplay between ADA, FMLA and the New Jersey Workers’ Compensation Act, as well as the use of videotape surveillance and other investigative techniques to defend employers in workers’ compensation cases. Our attorneys have experience addressing issues that are unique to municipal entities, such as the effect of disability pensions on workers’ compensation cases. Scarinci Hollenbeck has alsorepresented petitioners, which in turn assists our team in formulating and negotiating favorable settlements.
