The firm represents public entities in the area of labor and employment matters.
Our public clients include municipalities, boards of education, regional authorities, and other public boards and authorities. We regularly counsel our clients on employment matters that consist of, but are not limited to, work place harassment issues, performance evaluations, and wage compliance matters. We also represent public entities in labor negotiations with public sector unions for new collective bargaining agreements and interest arbitration hearings. Regularly, we handle grievance arbitrations and disciplinary hearings for public employers. Due to the economic decline, we have also began assisting clients who are seeking to reduce personnel expenses, which includes personnel audits and consolidation of resources to lower costs. We also review and revise employment manuals and handbooks in conjunction with anti-harassment training for employees.
