Employment law is shifting fast — and New Jersey employers need to keep up. On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, Scarinci Hollenbeck Partner and Litigation Group Chair Angela A. Turiano, Senior Associate Matthew F. Mimnaugh, and Counsel Brittany P. Tarabour will present at the SHRM Princeton Half-Day Legal Seminar. The program, Hot Topics in NJ Employment Law, begins at 8:30 a.m. at Americana Kitchen and Bar in East Windsor, New Jersey.
Hosted by SHRM Princeton, the seminar is designed to help HR professionals, in-house counsel, and business leaders navigate the increasingly complex intersection of state and federal employment law. Angela will lead two sessions covering some of the most pressing compliance issues facing New Jersey employers today.
The first session will address worker classification and liability, including New Jersey’s ABC Test, shifting federal standards under the FLSA, joint employer exposure, and the legal implications of AI in hiring and automated decision-making. The second session will feature an interactive workplace investigation case study, walking attendees through best practices for conducting internal investigations, managing employee complaints, and reducing risk in disciplinary and termination decisions.
Angela A. Turiano is an experienced employment and securities litigator who represents employers in complex workplace disputes and advises clients on compliance, internal investigations, and risk mitigation. As Chair of the firm’s Litigation Group, she brings a practical, litigation-informed perspective to workforce challenges. Angela is also a frequent speaker on employment law topics and serves as SHRM Princeton’s Director of Legislative Affairs.
Matthew F. Mimnaugh and Brittany P. Tarabour will co-present alongside Angela, each bringing substantive employment law experience to the program. Matt previously served as Chief Counsel to an EEOC Commissioner and as labor counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, giving him firsthand insight into the federal policy developments shaping today’s compliance landscape. Brittany focuses her practice on public employment law, labor and employment, and litigation, and is a recognized New Jersey Rising Star.
Registration is available through SHRM Princeton’s event page.
