NJ Labor & Employment Attorney Speaks in Spain

Lyndhurst, NJ – July 26, 2022 – Labor & Employment attorney Arianna Mouré recently co-chaired the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey’s (HBA-NJ) 19th Annual Sun, Surf & Seminars conference (SSS) in Barcelona, Spain. This event marked the first time in HBA-NJ history that it hosted its SSS conference in Europe.

Arianna and the SSS Committee (which included colleague Dianna Santiago) organized the weeklong conference that included a variety of workshops and panel discussions covering how professionals can navigate the complex legal issues of the new post-pandemic era. During her panel entitled, “Civility and Professionalism in the Courtroom and Beyond: Perspectives from the Bench and the Bar in a COVID World”, Arianna discussed several issues including how effective video call platforms like ZOOM are in the legal profession, the differences in how attorneys conduct themselves in and out of court, and professionalism in the digital, post-COVID age.

In addition to HBA-NJ’s first SSS being hosted in Europe, there were many other firsts for attendees during this year’s SSS. For example, a Comparative Law discussion was held that featured a panel of prominent Spanish attorneys and Amazon Spain’s Legal Director, Ana Buitrago, who discussed the complex legalities in Spanish law as compared to American Law. Attendees also had the unique opportunity of meeting and sharing lunch with the United States Ambassador to Spain, Julissa Reynoso.
