Scarinci Hollenbeck Partner Brian D. Spector has spent over 40 years building a distinguished career in bankruptcy and creditors’ rights law. Along the way, he also became a Tony Award™-winning Broadway producer. In January 2027, that second career reaches a new milestone in London, where Wild About You, the new musical he has been developing as sole producer, will stage its first full developmental production.
“With a few solid years of successful development behind us and with an already established presence on the West End through our concerts and a featured presentation at Musical Con 2025, we are ready to bring this powerful story and beautiful score to London audiences,” said Brian.
Wild About You features music and lyrics by Chilina Kennedy, best known for her acclaimed run as Carole King in Beautiful on Broadway, and a book by award-winning playwright Dani Stoller. The show follows Billy, a young man who discovers a trunk of letters on the day of his high school graduation, written by a mother he had been told abandoned him as a child. The discovery sends Billy and his best friend Scoot on a journey to uncover the truth about his past and a connection he never knew existed.
London theater audiences have responded warmly to the production, with reviewers praising its score, performances, and emotional resonance.
Spector has served as sole producer since 2023. He released the World Premiere Recording featuring many A-list Broadway stars on Broadway Records, now Center Stage Records, presented a fully staged and designed World Premiere in Concert at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, and guided the show through a workshop, an appearance at Musical Con 2025 in London, and most recently a 29-hour reading in NYC. The upcoming January 2027 production marks the show’s most significant step yet toward a full staging.
Spector’s producing career is not separate from his legal practice, it is an extension of the same skills. As a bankruptcy and creditors’ rights attorney with over 40 years of experience, he has spent his career helping businesses and creditors navigate high-stakes, complex financial situations. That same command of risk, deal structure, and long-horizon judgment underpins his work as a producer.
Through Keaka Productions, the live theatrical production company he founded in 2014, Spector has built one of the more impressive producing portfolios working today. His credits include The Hills of California (Broadway, 2024, Lead Producer), SUFFS (Broadway, Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Score), Leopoldstadt (Tony Award, Best Play), The Inheritance (Tony Awards, Best Play and Best Direction of a Play), Come From Away, and most recently Marisha Wallace: Live in London and Paddington the Musical in the West End. He is a two-time Tony Award winner.
For Broadway and entertainment producers, investors and creatives seeking legal counsel, Brian’s background is singular. He understands production financing, investor structures, and the business of bringing a show from development to the stage, not as an outside observer, but as someone who has done it at the highest level.
If you are looking for a bankruptcy and creditors’ rights attorney who also happens to be a two-time Tony Award winner, look no further than Brian D. Spector. A Partner at Scarinci Hollenbeck, Brian has over 40 years of experience advising businesses, lenders, and creditors on complex financial matters in New York and New Jersey, with a practice spanning bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, litigation, and corporate and commercial law.
