New York, NY – November 21, 2023 – Scarinci Hollenbeck is proud to share that the album for Partner Brian D. Spector’s new musical is now available. Wild About You is a musical in development, with music and lyrics by Broadway star Chilina Kennedy and book by Eric Holmes.
Mr. Spector, a partner in the firm’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights group, has enjoyed remarkable success in his “second career” in theater production. He founded Keaka Productions, LLC, a live theatrical production company, in 2014 and has gone on to win two Tony Awards®. Spector served as co-producer of the Tony Award® and Drama Desk Award winning play The Inheritance by Matthew Lopez, and was also the co-producer of Tom Stoppard’s epic play Leopoldstadt, which received Tony Awards® for Best Play, Best Director, Best Featured Actor, and Best Costume Design.
“I am tremendously grateful to have enjoyed professional success as both an attorney and a producer,” said Mr. Spector. “When I first became involved in the theater industry, I could only imagine being involved with the caliber of professionals working on this musical. The album for Wild About You truly showcases their talent, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this project.”
The Wild About You world premiere recording under the Broadway Records label features Tony, Grammy, and Emmy-winning artists, including Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Once On This Island, Here Lies Love), Alex Newell(Shucked, Once On This Island), Joaquina Kalukango (Paradise Square, Into the Woods), Jenn Colella (Come From Away, SUFFS, If/Then), Eric McCormack (Will & Grace, The Cottage), Aisha Jackson (Once Upon A One More Time, Waitress), Noah Ricketts (Frozen, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), and Jay McKenzie (Paradise Square, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical).
The digital album is available now on a variety of music services. The physical CD will be released on December 8, 2023, and is available for pre-order now at BroadwayRecords.com and Amazon.
After being well-received at an industry presentation in March 2023, future plans for Wild About You include an album release concert, a spring 2024 workshop, and a first staged production during the 2024-2025 season. The musical, which was previously titled With(out) Her, follows Olivia, who finds herself in the hospital with limited memory. As she struggles to figure out which of the loves of her life is her emergency contact, she remembers her greatest love: her son.
