Ronald S. “Ron” Bienstock, Scarinci Hollenbeck partner, chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group and co-chair of the Entertainment, Media and Sports Group will be among the panelists at two special intellectual property seminars.
The first, Intellectual Property Protection and Enforcement, will be presented by the New Jersey State Bar Association. It is open to all members of the Entertainment, Sports and Law Section, and will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the Law Center, One Constitution Square, in New Brunswick. This cutting edge seminar will focus on intellectual property protection and enforcement. Attendees will be given the opportunity to learn the differences between various types of intellectual property, and how each can be protected and enforced. Participants will earn 2.4 CLE credits for New Jersey, 2.0 for New York, and 2.0 for Pennsylvania. For more information or to register, go to: www.NJSBA.com.
The second presentation entitled Intellectual Property for the General Practitioner. The half-day seminar, presented by the Institute for Continuing Legal Education (“ICLE”), will be held at the Law Center, One Constitution Square in New Brunswick, New Jersey on December 8, 2016. This seminar is designed to help general practitioners learn the “nuts and bolts” of intellectual property law. Areas of intellectual property to be covered include copyrights, patents, trademarks, unfair competition, non-compete clauses, the European Unitary Patent System. Issues to be explored at this comprehensive session are the differences between various properties, how to register them, whether registration is enough to protect a client’s property, how to navigate the US Patent and Trademark Office, and how to enforce ownership of a client’s property.
