Pinguelo, (CIPP/US) a Partner at Scarinci Hollenbeck has been selected by the Executive Committee of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey to serve as a member of the AFBNJ Board of Trustees. AFBNJ is the pre-eminent Bar Association for those who practice before the New Jersey Federal Courts. Pinguelo and the other distinguished members of the federal bar who were selected to serve on the Board will be inducted on June 18, 2015 at the Association’s annual William J. Brennan Award dinner.
Pinguelo said, “I am beyond honored to be among those who have distinguished themselves as respected members of the bar and chosen to serve on the Board of Trustees.”
Fernando Pinguelo has garnered an international reputation as a thought leader on the emerging practices of cyber law and electronic discovery, on which he has frequently lectured and has authored numerous articles. He maintains an active federal practice comprised of complex litigation. At Scarinci Hollenbeck, Pinguelo chairs the firm’s Cyber Security & Data Protection, Crisis Management and eDiscovery groups. He is also Chair of the NJSBA Privacy Law Special Committee, and is accredited by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as an information privacy professional. For more than a decade, Mr. Pinguelo has served as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law where he teaches a course on electronic discovery.
AFBNJ serves as a resource for the Court and provides opportunities for federal practitioners to interface with Federal Judges on issues of mutual interest. The AFBNJ offers a number of educational seminars as well as volunteer opportunities for its members, with the overriding goal of improving the justice system and providing law-related community service. The Association sponsors the United States District Court Conference each March, as well an Annual Dinner each June, at which the William J. Brennan Jr. Award to outstanding jurists or lawyers is presented. In addition, at this event, the John J. Barry Memorial Scholarships are presented to the recipients from New Jersey law schools.
