Herndon, Jr. will be featured as a panelist during the National Bar Association’s annual Corporate Counsel Leadership Summit (CCLS) in Minneapolis, MN. Mr. Herndon will speak on a panel entitled, “Law Firm Leadership and Practice Management: The Balancing Act of Leading and Practicing at a High Level”.
“I am looking forward to speaking on this panel,” stated Mr. Herndon, Jr. “Building relationships and originating business is an indispensable and integral part of practicing law. I am grateful for the opportunity to speak on such a critical subject that can propel the trajectory of an attorney’s career.”
The Corporate Counsel Leadership Summit (CCLS) is a one-day summit discussing a myriad of issues facing the office of the general counsel identified by legal professionals. The event allows for candid and strategic discussions leading to concrete solutions to enhance professional and business development.
Business development as a diverse lawyer is not just about networking outside of the office. Understanding succession plans, origination, rate negotiation and what it means to be a relationship partner are vital to building and sustaining a book of business. In today’s fast-paced environment, this panel will focus on how to balance leadership while maintaining a high level of law practice, with a particular focus on the unique challenges facing diverse law firm partners. The panel will discuss the benefits of leading as well as the difficult decisions made in the past. The panel will also share their perspective on how they incorporate DEI principles or goals as they lead.

Thomas H. Herndon, Jr. is Partner and Chairs the Scarinci Hollenbeck litigation practice group. He has over twenty years of experience handling a wide variety of general litigation matters and general corporate matters. Thomas routinely handles matters relating to corporate disputes, cyber litigation, transportation litigation, construction litigation, as well as corporate liability on behalf of his clients. He is also experienced in advising clients in matters relating to commercial real estate, labor & employment, corporate & regulatory compliance as well as corporate transactions & business. In 2021, Thomas was named a Diverse Attorney of the Year by the New Jersey Law Journal.
