201-896-4100 info@sh-law.comLyndhurst, NJ – May 23, 2016 – Scarinci Hollenbeck congratulates its Senior Associate Roshan D. Shah, who has been honored by the New Jersey Law Journal as a New Leader of the Bar. Formerly known as “40 under 40,” this annual award is presented to young attorneys in the Garden State who have built accomplished careers and established themselves as leaders within their firms and organizations, as well as within the legal community as a whole. In choosing their honorees, the Law Journal conducts a rigorous evaluation process, managed by a seven-member panel of individuals from all corners of the legal profession.
Roshan D. Shah, 2016 New Leaders of the Bar
Mr. Shah is a senior litigator and trial attorney who has successfully tried cases to juries in both federal and state court. He has represented multinational corporations, franchise owners, health care providers, and public sector clients in a wide-range of cases, including products liability, shareholder and commercial disputes, employment discrimination, and constitutional torts under the federal and New Jersey Civil Rights Acts. Mr. Shah has also represented clients before the New Jersey Appellate Division, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and, most recently in Heffernan v. the City of Paterson, et al., the United States Supreme Court.
“I am honored and humbled to have been chosen as a New Leader of the Bar,” said Mr. Shah. “It would not have been possible without the support of the wonderful colleagues with whom I’ve worked, as well as the clients who have entrusted me with some of their most challenging matters. I share this honor with them.”
Robert E. Levy, chair of the firm’s litigation group, said “Roshan is a valued member of the Scarinci Hollenbeck litigation team. He truly is a ‘New Leader’ of the Bar, who demonstrates the level of skill, experience, and dedication we like to see exhibited by our attorneys.”
Before joining Scarinci Hollenbeck, Mr. Shah was a Deputy Attorney General for the Division of Law, where he amassed a strong record of success defending the New Jersey State Police, the Department of Corrections, and their employees, in civil rights and employment discrimination actions. In that capacity, he distinguished himself as a trial attorney, earning the 2015 New Jersey Attorney General’s Award for Trial Excellence and serving as a faculty member for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Advocacy Institute. Before his employment as a Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Shah worked in private practice, representing Fortune 500 companies in disputes involving pharmaceutical products, commercial contracts, and employment matters.
The honorees will receive their awards at an event on June 15.
