Prior to joining Scarinci Hollenbeck, Ms. Beaufort worked as an Assistant Prosecutor for the Essex County’s Prosecutor’s Office in Newark, NJ. She prosecuted major crimes in hundreds of cases and collaborated with law enforcement to wage extensive fact-finding investigation. Ms. Beaufort also has experience in handling School Board representation matters, litigation, personal injury suits and labor & employment matters.
Kara earned her Juris Doctorate from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. In addition, Kara is an Adjunct English Professor at a local Community College and a Youth Minister at United Freedom Baptist Church located in Newark.

Served as Counsel to two School Boards of Education advising clients on matters of employment, contractual procurement, responses to OPRA requests, and governing policies concerning conflicts of interests.
