Pinguelo Moderates Panel at the HNBA’s Annual Convention in Denver, CO

Lyndhurst, NJ, September 12, 2013 – Fernando M. Pinguelo, a Partner at Scarinci Hollenbeck Attorneys at Law, and Chair of the law firm’s Cyber Security & Data Protection practice group, recently moderated a panel on “Meeting Your Discovery Obligations in the Electronic Age,” at the HNBA’s Annual Convention on Friday, September 6, 2013. The convention covered three days of events and programming held from September 4-7 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

Pinguelo was invited to moderate the panel by Meshach Y. Rhoades of Kutak Rock LLP in Denver, Colorado. The panel was composed of panelists Raquel Tamez, Principal & eDiscovery Counsel at Computer Sciences Corporation (Falls Church, Virginia), Federal Magistrate Judge The Honorable Craig Shaffer (Denver, Colorado), and Sean Andrade of Andrade Knott & Gonzalez LLP (Los Angeles, California).

The panel discussed “cutting edge tactics in making discovery efficient and affordable while fulfilling your obligations under the law.” The panel also addressed the latest eDiscovery topics including recent case law developments, use and acceptance of technology assisted review, and the impact BYOD (bring your own device) has on eDiscovery obligations.

Besides chairing its Cyber Security & Data Protection practice group, Pinguelo is also co-Chair of Scarinci Hollenbeck’s Crisis and Risk Management Group. He has extensive experience as a trial attorney and has garnered a national and international reputation as one of the pioneers of the emerging practices of cyber law and electronic discovery (eDiscovery). Several local, national, and international syndications have bestowed awards on, or otherwise profiled, Pinguelo for his work, including Law Technology News, who identified him as one of the few U.S.-based attorneys with advanced experience in managing privacy and security issues.

Recently, Pinguelo addressed the Brazilian Escola Paulista da Magistratura and provided the São Paulo state court judiciary with an executive summary on U.S. President Barack Obama’s February 12, 2013, Executive Order on Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity.
