Lyndhurst, NJ – August 9, 2019 – The New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) recently appointed Daniel T. McKillop, Counsel and Chair of the firm’s Cannabis Law group, and Raymond M. Brown, Partner in the firm’s Criminal Defense and Cannabis Law groups, to serve on the Cannabis Law Special Committee for the 2019-2020 term. This is the second consecutive term in which Mr. McKillop has been called upon to serve on the Committee.
As members of the Cannabis Law Special Committee, Mr. McKillop and Mr. Brown will work with a large group of New Jersey Cannabis Law attorneys to advance the mission of the Committee, which is to examine the many legal issues that arise from the expansion of the State’s medical cannabis program as well as the potential legalization of cannabis for recreational use. Mr. McKillop and Mr. Brown will review legislation and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees, suggest amicus advocacy positions, inform discussions on Court Rules and other matters that pertain to the regulation of attorneys, play a role in the production of a newsletter or information on Cannabis Law, and continuing legal education for attorneys to learn more about this burgeoning field.
