Kathleen Devlin has significant experience in complex civil litigation. She has handled many insurance matters and has been instrumental in forging favorable results in major coverage and bad faith actions involving significant insurance companies. She has addressed numerous coverage issues and disputes through coverage opinions, arbitration, mediation, and declaratory judgment litigations. She was involved with many of the key environmental coverage cases of the mid-1990’s. She has represented insurance industry clients both locally and nationally, in proceedings venued in state and federal courts, arbitrations and mediations. Additionally, Ms. Devlin has significant experience in handling appeals.

Ms. Devlin has handled complex litigation matters involving such areas as legal and accounting professional liability, construction defects and related surety and performance bond issues, commercial litigation, products liability, Civil Rights §§ 1983 and 1985, employment litigation, environmental and general insurance coverage, first party C.E.R.C.L.A., I.S.R.A., and E.C.R.A. actions, and general liability. In addition, Ms. Devlin has extensive expertise in toxic tort and mass tort litigation, including asbestos, arsenic, lead and benzene exposure.

Ms. Devlin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Fairfield University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Seton Hall Law School. After graduating from Seton Hall, Ms. Devlin accepted a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Robert T. Quackenboss and the Honorable Joseph C. Messina, Superior Court, Middlesex County. She is active in numerous professional and trade associations and was a contributor to the 2001 edition of “New Jersey Forms of Civil Pleading.”
